Cam Archer Opens Up On "Inside Voices" (Album Stream)

The San Bernardino artist Cam Archer released his latest project Inside Voices on April 12th. Inside Voices is Cam’s fourth project after two albums Spiritgunner and Cocamania and his El Guapo EP. Cam Archer’s style of music can be defined as a rapper with an eclectic approach to his compositions ranging from upbeat, electronic instrumentals to a darker and heavier based trap beat as the contrast to the electronic upbeat sounds iterated earlier. Cam has been featured on Audiomack and performed at PayDay LA and even hosted THOP (The Happiness of Pursuit) Festival which featured Skyzoo, Conway and Benny The Butcher earlier this month.

This album is twelve tracks long lasting thirty-four minutes. In that time frame, the listener goes through Cam’s experiences in his perspective such as opening up on how he’s creating closure and ending a relationship in the song Awkward. The last few lines in the last verse ties in all of his thoughts of insecurities and doubt presented in the song with these lines “A reset would be lovely/no console to console me/your talent is for the masses, but you gon die lonely/that’s what my conscious tells me/and now I see the problem/looking at my girl’s eyes trying not to make things awkward...” In Saturday Morning Cartoons, he discusses his disdain for his father and how Cam became the “friendly neighborhood nerd that knew all the killers well” and wonders “If life’s a movie, why was [he] never prepped with the trailer” so that he could handle situations better growing up and be more content with his mind state in pursuing music.

If you never heard of Cam Archer, this is the project to get your feet wet into his discography. The project was produced by Nabeyin and Oh Gosh Leotus. There are features from his fellow cohorts in the Over Everything collective such as Nicklaus Gray on two tracks, CJ Westley and fellow OE and Midnight Run Podcast & member Jay Kasai on Possessive. There are two features on the melodic and smooth R&B-esque track Slow from Dare House and Aye Sincere. You can stream the album below on Spotify and listen to it on Audiomack HERE.
